Connect a Badge Scanner to a Mobile Device
How do you connect a badge scanner to a mobile device to enable badge scan accountability
- Plug in the NF4 device to charge it.
You can continue to the following steps as long as the red charging light is turned on. - Long press the white button on the NF4 to power it on.
You should see a blinking blue light. - Open the Headcount app on your Bluetooth BLE-enabled device (most modern phones and tablets).
Make sure you are using at least version 2.0.0 of Headcount from the Apple or Android app stores. - From the Main Menu, select Settings.
- Turn on Enable External Devices if it is not already on.
- Tap the Open Device Manager button.
- Tap the idChamp NF4 device to connect to it.
The NF4 badge scanner is now connected to your BLE-enabled mobile device. Congrats!
You only need to go to the next step if your badge scanners have not been configured to your badge type yet. This typically only happens once when first implementing the system at your site.
